A story based on the determination of a young cat. Cats Don't Dance is a magnificent movie for kids that shows that if you want something really badly you have to go for it with all your heart.
Danny, the orange tabby, has always wanted to go to Hollywood to become a movie star. He decides to leave his home town Kokomo to become a magnificent star in Hollywood. He journeys there and as soon as he gets to the agent Farley Wink, he lands himself a part in a movie with Darla Dimple, a young girl with a giant servant. In the movie Darla acts as the 'ark angel' who loves animals whereas in real life she despises animals and strongly fights the urge to anihilate them.
During the first rehearsal Danny is annoyed that his only line is 'MEOW' and decides to jazz things up. After stealing Darla's spotlight he is picked up and nearly squashed by Darla's giant servant Max. He is laughed at by all all of his new friends: Tillie the hippo, Sawyer the cat, Cranston the goat, Frances the fish and T.W the turtle. He befriends Pudge, a young penguin who delivers ice. Together they discover Woolie Mammoth and find out that in Hollwood, the spotlight is only for talented humans. Here quoted:
Danny: But I thought Hollywood was always looking for new talent.
Woolie Mammoth: Ah, ah, talented *people*, not animals.
They also find out that all of Danny's friends were once magnificent actors, singers, musicians and dancers and were just broken by the people that treated them badly. Danny decides to cheer all the animals up and put some fun into them. Darla and Max find out and watch the party. At the party Danny offers Sawyer an interview with the head of Mammoth studios, L.B Mammoth and is invited to tea by Darla. Darla tells him that she can organise an interview with L.B and creates a plan to kill all the animals so they won’t destroy her career and steal her spotlight.
The movie goes on with hilarious scenes, an artificial flood, (that according to me should actually be on the premiere) A one on one showdown between Danny and Max on a giant floating Darla baloon and a magnificent ending finishing with a big 'BANG'. This movie is very inspiring and as always happens in the greatest movies, the hero wins. There are no big, violent scenes or martial arts but instead, think of what the moral of the movie is and what you can take out of it. If you want something badly enough, you should go for it. It inspired me to write this review and to do many other things. So next time you are in a fix, stuck on the road to wherever you are trying to get to, think about what you can do to help yourself get the best out of the situation, and get you closer to where your dream lies.
This movie is fabulous and I loved it. I really recommend this movie and I hope that you use it to your advantage.
